2008 Midwest Conference on Deaf Education
Call for Proposals
We are pleased to invite presentation proposals at the 2008 Midwest Conference on Deaf Education: Young Minds Under Construction: Providing Deaf and Hard of Hearing with Tools for Success. The conference will be held at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD, July 20-22.
Proposal Topics, Conference Themes, and Session Formats
The conference will include three strands: interpreting, education (self-contained and itinerant), and family support.
Each strand will include sessions that will last 60 minutes or 120 minutes.
Selection Process
The Program Committee is responsible for soliciting and reviewing proposals, and selecting presenters. The selection criteria may include any or all of the following:
A. Relevance to conference strands
B. Innovation, clarity, and organization
C. Estimated audience appeal
Note that all presenters and co-presenters are required to register for the conference. One complimentary registration will be provided per presentation.
Proposal Format
For full consideration, all proposals should include the following:
A. A proposal information sheet (see next page)
B. Learning goals/objectives for the audience
C. A 200-250 word description of the presentation
D. A 40-50 word abstract
E. A 40-50 word biography of each presenter for the conference program
